Advanced Practice Provider - Full-time Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Cheyenne County Hospital is on the cutting edge for a rural Critical Access Hospital in northwest Kansas as we strive to Improve Access to Quality Healthcare for our community. We are a 16-bed critical access hospital with two Rural 
Health Clinics in St. Francis and Bird City. We are continuously seeking opportunities to grow. A Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner is needed to join this growing group practice which includes one MD, one DO, a APRN NP-C, a FNP-C and a part-time Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC). 

A strong cardiopulmonary/respiratory therapy,  Rehab department (physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy, women’s health, speech therapy), diagnostic imaging, full laboratory and wound care departments are available in the hospital. Currently, specialists include cardiology, ophthalmology and a general surgeon who specializes in colon and rectal surgery. Outpatient services include MRI, mammography, nuclear medicine, audiology and sleep studies.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to work in a rural health clinic setting 4 days per week and one Saturday morning per month and 1 in 4 ER call coverage (one day/week, one weekend/month) with the ability to pick up extra call as needed/wanted. Candidates should be fully functional in the ER with minimal supervision.  The Provider would work in the RHC and see typically 15-18 patients per day in the clinic. inpatient rounding during call weekends and as needed based on inpatient volume. Must be fully capable of doing inpatient rounding with physician back up by phone.  The provider would serve as a first assist for C-sections on a rotating basis.

The Provider would need to secure ATLS, PALS and ACLS once employed by the hospital.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience: Family practice, ER experience, one year preferred. Having Obstetrics experience is preferred.

Certification/Registration: Certified Physician Assistant License or Nurse Practitioner License
