Who We Are
Cheyenne County Hospital is a nonprofit Critical Access Hospital dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care close to home. Licensed for 16 beds, we offer Acute Care, Swing Bed services, and Obstetrics, along with a 24-hour Emergency Department for urgent needs.
We also operate the Cheyenne County Clinics in St. Francis and Bird City, as well as the County Health Department, ensuring comprehensive care for our community. Cheyenne County Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions program, is an intensive outpatient group counseling program, is designed to meet the unique needs of older adults over the age of 65 struggling with depression and anxiety often related to aging.
Since opening in 1953, we have proudly served Cheyenne County and surrounding rural areas in northwestern Kansas, near the Nebraska and Colorado borders. As one of the county’s largest employers, we remain committed to our mission:

Cheyenne County Hospital is leased by Great Plains Health Alliance and legally recognized as Great Plains of Cheyenne County, dba Cheyenne County Hospital.
